Solaborate is seeking for a Sourcing Engineer whose purpose will be to lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings and other sourcing related opportunities. The individual in this role will act as the technical interface between suppliers and manufacturing engineers to determine new and alternate sources.

We need someone who can focus and collaborate, who is dedicated to excellence and can successfully grow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.
• Review supplier’s processes and identify improvement opportunities in processes and systems at supplier locations to improve quality, cost and flow of supplied materials throughout the entire supply chain.
• Work with R&D on New Product Development (NPD) to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
• Interact with R&D teams to ensure suppliers are involved in development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.
• Use project management skills and tools to investigate alternate component technologies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and implement changes.
• Conduct supplier system and process audits in compliance with Solaborate’s supplier performance and monitoring goals and objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Knowledge of world-class quality techniques and implementation
• Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline would be advantageous.
• Good interpersonal, project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues
• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
• Highly organized self-starter
• Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems and use good judgment
• Technical detail-oriented
• Knowledge of ISO and other recognized international quality system standards
