Devops Backend Engineer

AMK Solutions is actively seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance our operations and development teams. This crucial role focuses on improving and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our innovative web applications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AWS services and cloud infrastructure management, playing a key role in automating and streamlining our operations and processes. Experience with Ruby on Rails is considered a valuable asset, facilitating smooth integration between our development and operations efforts.

DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design and Management: Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) systems and methodologies on AWS.
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain and scale our AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage code releases.
• Cross-Training: Support and improve infrastructure for Ruby on Rails applications, making Ruby on Rails experience a strong plus.
• Automation: Automate processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability.
• AWS Services: Leverage AWS services to support high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Security Practices: Implement security practices to maintain high standards of data protection and compliance.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor, analyze, and report performance statistics for cloud-hosted environments.

Requirements:

• AWS Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a DevOps role, with significant experience managing AWS environments.
• Linux/Unix Administration: Strong background in Linux/Unix administration.
• Automation/Configuration: Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Cloud Services: Experience with a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required).
• Database Management: Strong experience with SQL
• Scripting: A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python or Ruby).
• Ruby on Rails: Experience is a plus, enhancing the ability to integrate with the development team.
• Best Practices: Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Certification in AWS is a huge plus. 
• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Timezone: Ability to work in the US timezone.
