IT Support Administrator

GSI is currently seeking to employ an IT Support Administrator.

The IT Support Administrator will play a key role in supporting our client’s IT systems, ensuring business critical applications are well maintained, as well as providing helpdesk service to IT users throughout the network of branches and head office teams.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent. Master’s degree would be considered an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a Support Administration role or related field
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office/Database
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience working with Office 365
  • Previous experience providing 1st/2nd line support
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills on English; working knowledge of another language is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team delivering results based on specific objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to handle pressure

 

Responsible for:

  • Advising and participating in the development of the process documentation in order to improve systems and procedures with both internal and external 3rd teams
  • Effectively managing Microsoft Active Directory and administering Office 365
  • Assessing and managing Group Policy administrative tasks
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of issues, tracking, and resolving root causes while liaising with service providers
  • Performing regular assessments while monitoring and reporting about the incident response system to 3rd party vendors
  • Liaising with various vendor support desks to ensure continual user access and controls to 3rd party systems
  • Ensuring a smooth and successful operation of Microsoft Teams and other applications in the daily work
  • Working with the internal development team in gathering information and providing evidence from users
  • Analysing issues and providing insights on the improvement of existing and upcoming technologies that could be beneficial or affect the operations

 

            Other tasks will include:

  • Responding accurately and timely in helping with desk tickets within the agreed IT SLAs
  • Providing first line telephone and remote desktop support for computers, printers, email systems and other
  • Configuring computers, phones, and other mobile devices
  • Helping with setting up new starters and processing leavers
  • Assisting in evaluation of software for office productivity
  • Office support while maintaining a helpful and positive attitude
