What is Tech Heroes?

Tech Heroes is a multiethnic project that aims to engage youth in solving community problems/challenges through technological creations. Tech Heroes, the tech competition that brings communities together. In the pursuit to improve the communication of all communities in Kosovo, IOM together with jCodres Academy have implemented ‘Tech Heroes’ a technology competition that brings all 6 communities together.

 

About job position:

The Role of Tech Heroes Trainers is to act as teachers/facilitators for their groups. Trainers will execute the curriculum of the Tech Heroes project to drive students through a problem solving journey where they will discover solutions for societal problems.

 

Requirements:

• Have programming experience
• Knows English and Serbian fluently
• Is enthusiastic and wants to learn new things

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Trainers:

• Must participate actively in the training offered by jCoders Academy
• Is obliged to perform the teaching materials prepared by Tech heroes according to the model of Tech Heroes program
• Is responsible to attend the training for teachers as per Tech Heroes model of work
• Is responsible to assist students during their work
• Is responsible to guide students to achieve their goals as per Tech Heroes objectives
• Must be prepared to answer questions from their students, and to ask for assistance of Tech Heroes staff in case they can't meet the demands of their students
• Must assess student performance
• Must assess group performance
• Must report groups and student progress to Tech Heroes Manager
• Is responsible to treat based on educator approach the possible conflicts, or miscommunication between team members and use positive reinforcement for treatment of such occasions
• To regularly fill participation lists
• Participate regularly in staff meetings required for all
• To occasionally translate literature as requested by Tech Heroes
• Assist the staff of TechHeroes in implementation of duties. This can include additional administrative and logistical duties related to students
• To participate in preliminary mandatory Tech Heroes training
• Be responsible to contact students/their parents for accountability regarding student participation in TechHeroes activities
• Act as a trust-person for parents for the Tech Heroes project (especially important for minorities)
