What will you do?

At PECB as a Legal Officer you will provide legal support to the Board of Directors, CEO, Heads of departments and the entire company. The candidate will have the opportunity to work from Kosovo in an international environment for a global organization.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

-Carries out legal analysis of draft laws and sub-legal acts and of draft policies;

-Coordinates the legal cases in various jurisdictions internationally;

-Acts as a liaison and contact point for law firms working on behalf of PECB for various legal cases;

-Carries out legal analysis of the implementation of the legislation in force by Canadian institutions;

-Meets with, and participates in meetings of, stakeholders (both Kosovo and Canada) related to the legislative processes;

-Provides advisory and services to PECB Management on legal matters;

-Drafts notes, reports, presentations and any other documents related to the above-mentioned activities; 

-Drafts legal and administrative guidelines, correspondence, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance;

-Monitor and ensure PECB activities comply with any applicable UN or Canadian sanctions, and do not violate international economic sanction regulations.

-Prepares legal advice and assistance on legal questions related to policies and disciplinary matters;

-Participates in the elaboration of the work plan to make sure that goals and targets are met and reached;

-Submits monthly and quarterly work reports to Management;

-Performs any other duties in line with these functions, as assigned by the Board of Directors, CEO, and Heads of Departments.

 

Preferred Competencies

-Bachelor’s degree in Law;

-Proficiency in English (written & verbal).

-2-5 years of relevant professional experience in law or a related field, e.g. lawyer, legal officer etc;

-Knowledge of the international common laws, rules and regulations;

-Ability to prepare complex legal documents;

-Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude;

-Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and within limited time frames;

-High attention to details and strong negotiation skills;

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

-Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

-Excellent interpersonal skills;
