JOB DESCRIPTION

Butler Hospitality is looking for a Software Release Manager to join our team in Kosovo. You will be responsible for managing our release cycles by identifying impacted systems and coordinating our release efforts with the necessary teams. You will work closely with our developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product manager to ensure timely and error-free releases. Our tech stack consists of various microservices, microsites, mobile apps, and a larger monolithic app, so understanding dependencies and coordinating between various teams will be critical.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle
• Help create a release strategy across various applications
• Communicate the project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams
• Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected
• Assist with identifying and tracking performance metrics and benchmarks (critical bugs, API response times, downtime, etc) against specific release cycles
• Track the progress and find issues, if any. Always work to improve the process of release
• Plan and give sprint updates on the release activities
• Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully
• Team up with relevant development teams responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software
• Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies
• Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
• Project management experience
• Experience with various programming languages
• Knowledge of release cycle best practices
• Knowledge of common tools for releases in CI/CD
• Ability to understand complex dependencies between applications
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to internal stakeholders
